31 Day Self Care Challenge: Day 12

Day 12: Create a gratitude list.

At one point, I was so overwhelmed by what was happening around me that I did more complaining then thanking. I spent nights and days going through an emotional roller coaster. It was physically exhausting.

Until one day, I realized I am blessed. Although my circumstance was not what I envisioned I am still blessed. God still had/has hands on me and my life. I began to thank God for my situation, for the tears, for the struggle, and hard times.

Do you know why?

I knew that it would make me stronger and wiser. The person I was wasnt going to be the person I am. It was a healing process; growth was occurring.

Amidst chaos and demands when responsibilities become overwhelming, the thought of blessings can seem so foreign.

It can be difficult to identify what you should be grateful for when life is moving so fast, when things get a little rocky.

Take some time to sit down and think about the things you are grateful for. Like I said prior, to every con there is a pro.

The responsibilities of motherhood get you down? Thank God you are blessed with children.

You’re tired of paying rent? Thank God you’re blessed with a home.

I can go on and on, but I think you guys get the point.

Spend some time alone, uninterrupted (if you can) and write down what you’re thankful for.

Try to make this a daily thing, thinking about your blessing. Trust me they’re there.
