Pain and hardships in life are inevitable. They are almost guaranteed to happen. They can affect anyone and they come in many different shapes and sizes.
Some may think being saved or accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior will give you a free pass to an easy life. No pain, no struggles, no obstacles…
Only if it was that easy right?
Not exactly, you see, we still face trials and tribulations, hardships, heartache, struggles; saved or not you’re still going to go through it but there is a slight difference in experience.
There is a dull lonely feeling that lingers when you are going through a situation and you cannot find any support to reach out to.
I can remember being upset and what I said to myself was something around the lines of “if you’re saved you go through something and if you’re not saved you go through something, I never catch a break.” Yeah, it was something like that, right away the Holy Spirit checked me. How dare I fail to acknowledge the difference in the two?
Yes I will encounter situations but with God on my side I wont go through it alone. He has been my shelter, my peace, my hope, my joy, and my rock.
How dare I act like with or without Christ my hardships are the same! No, no, no that is far from the truth.
Take a look at some of these scriptures below:
Psalm 38: 18 (KJV)
“The LORD [is] nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.”
As a child of God, when I am going through Heis always near, giving me a sense of comfort.”
Philippians 4:6-7 (KJV)
“6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
Lets take a look at Psalm 91(KJV):
“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
9 Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.
14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.”
In conclusion, we all going through different types of pain and hardship but with God by your side the weight gets easier to carry.
After I made that comment out of emotion, I started to remember how God brought me through difficult situations and how that could NEVER compare to living to a life with a lack of His Spirit.
We will all go through something but there is a difference when Jesus is by your side. Trust me, I know.
