That Time I Met My Words Face to Face

I never really understood how much weight my words can hold. Being a person that constantly evaluates myself I had a tendency to be my biggest critique. I never appreciated what I did, I focused on what I couldnt, and I told myslef what I couldnt do.

My words paved the way to my success and downfalls. I had set myself up for failure before I even stepped foot onto faith!

When my mind set (which I verbally expressed) started to change then I noticed my results were changing. In many different situations I made alterations into what I spoke into the atmosphere and those situations went as spoken!

Now, Im not saying I have any special powers or that I have all control over my future but what I am saying is, when my mentality changed my actions and efforts changed. What I spoke into the air was like affirmations for myself, its what I believed and what I set myself up to expect.

Proverbs 18:21 (KJV)

21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

~

I would like to focus on the first half.

We can interpret this scripture in many ways but if your tongue can hold the power of life and death then you know it has strength.

Our words hold the power to speak life into our circumstances, our relationships, our marriage, our dreams and aspirations.

Our words have the powerr to kill doubt, fear and negativity.

If we truly realized that, then we can see that we have some power to shape our future (we all know God has ultimate power and say); have you ever noticed if you constantly tell yourself that you cant then you will not. You will achieve what you settle your mind to. If you believe that you can and will then there will be an increase in efforts, action, and results.

Before you speak it, think about it. Do you want to confront your words in the long run and shake its hand?

  1. Really good read. I am learning yo appreciate when I say I Choose to be happy. Because all my life there has been fear, anger, anr hatred but in my Adult life I choose to be Happy. So what we say has POWER either good or bad.

  2. Our tongues do hold great power. This in my opinion is not an area we utilize for the positive. I pray we learn to appreciate the possibilities.
    Great post!

  3. Yes, our words hold so much power! This was a good reminder that I needed to read today. Thank you for your encouragement. God bless you!

  4. Thanks for sharing. I read a book a few years ago about that helped me deal with my mouth. It was called SHUT IT UP. Please don’t be offended. It was very helpful and of course it had a lot of scripture to back up the SHUT UP. Here is the link if you want to purchase it. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0310339642/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 (I don’t get commission…I just highly recommend it) Charlene – https://faithtoraisenate.com
